2012 dodge charger review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. An unequivocally american muscle car. introductionit's as if nobody told dodge about american cars: that they are cheap, flimsy, incompetent. To the contrary, the dodge charger is a proudly american muscle sedan, pumped, powerful, and full of swagger. Without effort, it meets that challenge and welcomes the battle. The charger is proof that american carmakers have learned that they can no longer market shoddy design and haphazard assembly. To that end, the dodge charger is a proud product of the new detroit. It's handsomely designed and has world-class fit and finish. From crankshaft to door handles, everything operates with fine precision and the promise of long-lasting service.  the dodge charger was redesigned for the 2011 model year, and there are no significant changes for the 2012 charger except that a new 2012 dodge charger srt8 has been added to the model lineup. The 2012 charger is the second year of the second generation of the modern charger. The first generation ran 2006-2010. The original was launched as a '66. The general lee bo and luke duke drove was a '69.  from the outside, this second-generation charger looks a lot like an older rendering of the american sedan, but that appearance is misleading. The retro look is a self-confident exercise in sinuous american styling.  the interior, however, is anything but old style. A first-rate, 8. 4-inch touch-screen navigation system is coupled with a rearview camera and ancillary controls for climate and audio. The latest navigation system is sensationally intuitive, transparent, and pleasing to use, among the best we've seen. It's very easy to read and very easy to understand. Underscoring this user-friendliness, the charger's audio controls for volume and tuning are accomplished with old-fashioned, practical radial knobs: what a concept! German luxury brands costing vastly more could learn from the charger's straightforward controls.  nothing else is more happily apparent in the new dodge charger than that chrysler has enthusiastically embraced the new design and quality standards dictated by detroit's recent, painful bailouts. They must build better cars at lower prices than the competition. V6 chargers earn a stellar 31 mpg highway.  the 2012 dodge charger is the classic combination: a full-size detroit sedan with strong performance and unmistakable american looks, selling at a surprisingly attractive price. Compared with the full-size dodge sedan of 20 or 30 years ago, a 2012 charger will reward the owner with exciting styling, world-class engineering and impressive value. Connectivity group for sxt 395) includes voice command with bluetooth, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and leather-wrapped shift knob. Charger r/t 29,995) features the 5. 7-liter 370-bhp hemi v8 with decel fuel shut off (dfso). Adaptive cruise control group for sxt plus, r/t plus, and r/t road & track 925) adds forward collision warning with adaptive cruise control and heated steering wheel. Navigation group 795) includes voice command with garmin navi, sirius traffic, sirius travel link, and parking view rear backup camera.  safety features on all dodge chargers includes electronic traction control (tcs), electronic stability control (esc), anti-lock brakes (abs), electronic brake distribution (ebd), brake assist, rain brake support, hill-start assist, automatic headlamps, active front head restraints, all federally mandated airbags (seven), front seatbelt pretensioners, lower anchors and tethers for children (latch), occupant restraint controller. Available all-wheel drive can improve handling stability in adverse conditions, and the available rearview camera can help the driver spot a child behind the car when backing up. walkaroundthis latest-generation dodge charger is immediately recognizable. The front says it's a dodge, a design theme that began life on, of all things, the upright first-generation dodge ram pickup truck. The two vehicles could not be more different, yet the aggressive, muscular cruciform grille suits both perfectly. Achieving that kind of unmistakable model-line identity is no small achievement.  in like manner, the tail of the charger uses the same array of full-width taillamps made famous on the charger in the '60s. It's a handsome look that is instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with historic dodge styling cues. The charger expresses pride in where dodge, chrysler corporation, and for that matter, all american cars have been during the last few turbulent decades.  the body of the second-generation modern charger is crisply styled throughout. It is considerably edgier and more muscular than its immediate predecessor, which had great promise but was, by comparison, a bit of a lump. Along the sides of the car are slanting, angular indentations that echo the racy rear-facing engine-room vents made so famous on the all-conquering dodge viper supercar. In the charger, these are unmistakably bad looking in all of the right street-savvy ways.  continuing this street look, in profile, the car's dramatically low roofline tapers downward rapidly at the car's mid-point. In combination with its high waistline and compressed greenhouse, the car expresses a secretive, almost hot-rod chopped appearance. Occupants seem to peer outward from sinister gun slit-like windows. Yet for all of its hunched-over appearance, the occupants' outward visibility is quite good enough.  when the charger's dynamic outward appearance is combined with its strong performance, this is an american muscle sedan with the credentials to appeal to a broad range of tastes. interiorexamining the charger's interior, we started in the back seat to investigate just how limited seating room might be underneath this low roofline. Inevitably, tall backseat passengers will have to scrunch down a little, though moderately tall riders will be just fine. The rear cabin is comfortable and roomy without being huge. The top of the backlight has multi-linear applique black stripes, providing a bit of shade from the sun and simultaneously creating the impression from outside that the rear window is even lower and more hooded.  the rear seat is firm and supportive, with a fairly hard back-cushion. A central pull-down elbow rest contains two cup holde. Power Windows✔ Anti-lock Brakes✔ Power Mirrors✔ Power Locks✔ Cruise Control✔ Backup Camera✔ Navigation System✔ Remote Start✔ Bluetooth

2012 chrysler 300 review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Whether v6 or v8 and regardless of model it's a roomy, comfortable, quiet cruiser. Some new models have joined the lineup for 2012: a stylish chrysler 300s, the new chrysler 300c luxury series, and a new chrysler 300 srt8 super-sedan.  the chrysler 300s is a sportier 300, with 20-inch wheels and firmer suspension.  2012 chrysler 300 v6 models offer a new 8-speed automatic transmission from zf that makes the hemi v8-powered car nearly irrelevant. With this new transmission, the v6 gets an epa-estimated 31 mpg highway.  a new, optional navigation system is the best we've ever seen, with a large, 8. 4-inch screen that's easily understood at a glance and easy to operate. We highly recommend opting for it. Also new for 2012 are the usual assortment of color and wheel design upgrades, and not one but new sound system upgrades.  the chrysler 300 has all the heritage traits of an american luxury sedan such as room, comfort, endless features and amenities, power and a degree of presence, yet is also has good road manners, stops and changes directions as well as it goes. It also has a distinctive look ever harder to find in this era of economy-driven aerodynamics, pedestrian impact standards and corporate styling.  all-wheel drive is available. The ride height on 2012 chrysler 300 awd models is slightly lower than on 2011 models.  the chrysler 300 comes in nearly any combination of v6 or v8 engine, 5- or 8-speed automatic, and rear- or all-wheel drive.  the 2012 chrysler 300 srt8 model comes packed with a 470-hp 6. 4-liter v8 (only a corvette zo6's is larger), brembo brakes, forged alloy wheels, and bilstein adaptive dampers similar to those maserati uses. It's quick and good bang for the buck.  consideration for the chrysler 300 covers a wide spectrum including the cadillac cts, lincoln mks, lexus gs, infiniti m, hyundai genesis, volvo s60, bmw 3 series by price or 5 series by size, and mercedes c and e classes for the same criteria. A 300c awd can compete with ford's taurus sho. At about $47,000, the srt8 is a cost-effective sports sedan alternative to cadillac's cts-v, bmw's m-cars and mercedes-benz's amg e-class. Available for any 300 are ivory pearl paint 500) and an engine-block heater 40). (all prices are manufacturer's suggested retail prices, which do not include destination charge and may change at any time without notice.)  chrysler 300 limited 32,170) upgrades to leather upholstery, 8-speed automatic, remote start, fog lamps, 18-inch wheels, 276-watt alpine audio system, power passenger seat, and heated front seats. Chrysler 300 limited awd 34,320) features all-wheel drive, bigger brakes and 19-inch wheels. The luxury group 3,250) includes fancier leather, olive wood trim, heated/cooled front seats and cupholders, heated rear seats, wood and leather wrapped heated power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power adjustable pedals, driver memory system, power rear sunshade and auto-dimming exterior mirrors. A safetytec package 2,420) adds adaptive cruise control with collision warning, adaptive bi-xenon smartbeam headlamps, blind-spot and cross-path detection, rain-sensing wipers, front and rear park sensors, and rear fog lamps.  chrysler 300c 38,170) and 300c awd 40,320) come with a 363-hp 5. 7-liter v8, 5-speed automatic and bigger brakes. Standard equipment mirrors the 300 limited with luxury group and navigation, but with olive wood optional. Also available: premium audio systems, safetytec package, moonroof, 19 and 20-inch wheels.  chrysler 300s comes with a choice of v6 8-speed automatic 33,170) with awd 35,320); v8 5-speed automatic 39,710) with awd 41,320). S denotes body-color trim with gloss-black grille and headlight trim, matte carbon and piano-black cabin trim, 300s logo on cloth (v6) or leather (v8) seats, and the beats by dr. The s v8 also gets rear sunshade, rain-sensing wipers, and performance-tuned steering. 300s options include uconnect with 8. 4-inch touch screen, garmin navigation, sirius travel link with real time traffic and sirius satellite radio 795).  chrysler 300 srt8 47,170) comes with a 470-hp 6. 4-liter v8, five-speed automatic, 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, bilstein adaptive damping, and unique suspension and stability control calibration, brakes and tires. It also includes new nose and tail sections, sport seats with suede inserts, srt-specific instrumentation and driver information, and a one-day driving experience on track with professional driver instruction. Srt8 carries a $1,000 federal gas guzzler tax.  safety equipment on the chrysler 300 includes front, front side, driver knee, and side curtain air bags, electronic stability control with brake assist, and tire pressure monitoring system. The optional safetytec package groups several safety features together. Optional all-wheel drive improves stability in slippery conditions. walkaroundthe front of the chrysler 300 looks like a large sedan version of the chrysler 200 midsize sedan and town & country minivan, with many of the same visual cues in the grille, headlamps, air intakes and front bumper. It's much sleeker and more rounded at the nose, but carries a much lower aerodynamic drag coefficient because of the rounded elements and the very laid-back windshield angle. Neither the windshield nor the rear window carries any bright moldings at all, unusual for a luxury car, but it works on the 300.  on the s and srt versions a gloss-black grille and headlight housings framed against monochrome bodywork; it's hard to imagine understated and menacing applied to the same car but that's how it looks. Add in big dark wheels and the s and srt versions deliver the aggressiveness of an amg e-class or cadillac cts-v with more elegant machinery like a bentley gt. We have mixed feelings about the styling, especially that of the 300 srt8. It looks like an upscale hot rod, but we're not sure it quite pulls it off. The styling seems to work best on the standard models.  the profile of the chrysler 300 shows pronounced wheel lips front and rear, and they are connected by a sharp body line that starts at the trailing edge of the front wheel well and rises continuously to finish at the side of the tail lamps. That line, coupled with the larger side windows, narrower pillars, and another sculpted line at the bottom of the doors, does wonders to slim down and muscle up the look of the 300.  at the rear, there's a chrome bar running across the bottom edge of the decklid between the new vertical led taillamps and a tall, flat rear bumper between the exhaust outlets that widens the look of the car at the rear. The execution of the led daytime running lights at the front and the led rear lamps is excellent. The s and srt have deeper panels and a lip spoiler for stability. One of the more pleasant surprises in the chrysler 300 is the amount of light entering the car.  the interior environment is classy without being fussy, and the led lighting and instrumentation are spot-on. Upholstery can be cloth, leather, or suede and leather on srt8 and trim is faux wood, real wood, carbon-fiber or piano black lacquer style; interior adornment is generally matte-finish chrome so annoying reflections are minimal.  the instrument panel contains a bright gauge package, with crisp graphics and ice-blue accent lighting that is brilliantly legible day or night.  the center stack is dominated by a large (8. 4-inch) touch-screen control system, with audio and climate functions. Optional is a brilliantly colorful, large-icon garmin navigation system. This system, because of its size, graphics, and capabilities, may be the best all-around nav system currently available, easy to read, easy to use, and often readable from the back seat. We highly recommend it. Turn onto beaver brook road and in big type at the top of the screen it says, 'driving on beaver brook road.' we love it.  the 300's new fo. 2007 chevrolet hhr review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Retro-suv gets power boost for 2007. introductionthe chevy hhr is a handy wagon that celebrates a heritage that dates to the 1949 gmc suburban panel delivery truck. Hhr stands for heritage high roof, and the roof of the hhr is high. The chevy hhr is built on a smaller scale, but there are no bones about its retro styling. Its retro look is best exemplified in the hhr panel van.  we found the chevy hhr to be fun to drive. It isn't a sports car, but it's nimble and we were pleased with its acceleration. The hhr feels more responsive than its horsepower, torque, and transmission ratio numbers suggest. Plus, it gets decent fuel economy.  the interior wasn't as functional as we'd have liked, however, and the base cloth fabric left us wishing we'd ordered the optional leather.  the chevrolet hhr was launched as a new model in 2006, and it remains relatively unchanged for 2007 with the exception of slightly more powerful engines and a few additional new color choices. New exterior color options for 2007 include imperial blue metallic and golden teal metallic; a new interior color option is ebony.  the hhr is built on the platform of the chevy cobalt compact and incorporates its best features: engine, transmission and suspension. The hhr is meant to compete against the chrysler pt cruiser, as well as the honda element. It also serves as an alternative to a jeep liberty or ford escape.  the panel van lt features smooth, windowless side panels and rear cargo doors with no handles. The rear cargo doors open via an instrument panel button. lineupthe chevrolet hhr comes in ls and two grads of lt trim, 1lt and 2lt. The pioneer sound system is optional.  safety features include optional front and rear side-curtain airbags 395). Abs comes standard on the 2lt, and is optional for the ls and 1lt 400). Electronic stability control is not available. walkaroundif there's ever been a case of a picture of a so-called suv being worth a thousand words, the hhr should be it. It looks like a 1949 panel delivery truck, with the edges smoothed over. The big grille is chrome, every inch of it, and looks almost exactly like the '49 suburban grille. The headlights, however, are modern glittering wedges, containing one big beam and the turn signal.  the front and rear bumpers are molded plastic, unlike the steel in the body. Technically, they may be part of the fascia, but because they take the conspicuous shape of bumpers, they are more like square lumps extending from the extremities of the vehicle.  the glass runs neatly uninterrupted all around the vehicle, with five rectangular windows from b-pillar around the rear to b-pillar. There's something about the simple shape of these windows that gives the hhr a low-rider look, although the roof itself is relatively high, as the name declares. Roof rails are almost useless without crossbars. It features shaved rear door handles. The lack of windows adds security for valuables inside. This design also lends itself to wraps and customization. interiorthe tan cloth interior, despite its name of cashmere cloth, looks like upholstery that might be found in an inexpensive furnished rental unit. Speaking of headroom, there isn't a lot of it, in spite of the high roof.  there's no significant storage in any console between the seats; two cupholders and one slot is all. The door pockets are small. There's a useful flip-up compartment on top of the dash, however, as well as a small glovebox.  in the rear, there's one cupholder and small door pockets. Even operating the driver's window, at toll booths for example, requires leaning forward and reaching down. Window switches should be on the driver's door.  the turn signal makes a loud, rapid, annoying click. The rearview mirror blocks a significant chunk of forward visibility out the smallish windshield.  the gauges and controls are standard gm issue. Superfluous chrome rings and trim, and instruments designed to look cool, rather than to be easily readable. One good thing (even if it is bright chrome) is the door handle, an ergonomically correct ring which actuates with a horizontal inward pull.  if the hhr misses on the little interior things, at least the cargo storage possibilities are excellent, although the total cargo area of 55. 6 cubic feet is 8. 4 less than in the pt cruiser. The rear split 60/40 seat folds flat very easily, as does the front passenger seat; and since the 60-percent side of the rear seat is on the left, a long item like a ladder can be slipped in diagonally, a nice feature. The rear cargo floor flips up to reveal a five-inch-deep tray useful for storage. The rear liftgate is one piece, and raises easily.  legroom is lacking in the rear seat. Kids are always fine, as long as three of them can share one drink. We actually carried six 10-year-old boys on a soccer team for 60 miles in the hhr, and they were all happy, even the two who squeezed into the way-back. Adults wouldn't be as happy in the hhr's back seats.  the panel van has a rubberized floor that should be good for delivery or business or hobby uses. Rearward visibility is poor, however. driving impressionthe chevy hhr's 2. 4-liter ecotec is a wonderful little engine, and it has a slight boost in horsepower and torque numbers for 2007. It makes 175 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque at 5000 rpm, numbers which don't indicate anything special. In fact, that torque peak suggests that the low-rpm pulling power might be weak. We drive up a steep, slow hill every day, and the hhr plugged up the hill like a tractor, with no shifting-down of the automatic transmission.  transmission ratios have a lot to do with this efficient delivery of power. The automatic includes remote starting, and climbing into a toasty car on icy mornings after starting it from a warm house during morning coffee is a nice luxury. We liked the way the automatic could be easily manually downshifted, even though it doesn't feature a separate manual mode. And we liked how it held second gear going down that same steep, slow hill.  acceleration was equally impressive. Onto the freeway, foot on the floor, and the hhr 2lt really scoots, which makes it a lot of fun. The 2. 4-liter engine is quiet, thanks partly to special laminated steel in the firewall.  the 2. 4-liter engine is efficient, also. It gets the same epa-rated 22/27 mpg city/highway (with manual transmission) as the standard 149 hp, 2. 2-liter engine. Premium fuel is recommended but not required for the 2. 4-liter. During one week in the 2lt, we averaged 23. 4 miles per gallon, as indicated by the digital data on the dash. That included mostly around-town driving, plus about 120 freeway miles with a full load o. 2001 jeep cherokee review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Old timer still has plenty to offer. introductionhere we go again. Due to 'overwhelming customer demand,' the jeep people now tell us, 'cherokee production is extended past the original november 2000 close.' we've heard this before. The grand cherokee was supposed to replace the cherokee, but due to the demand for this solid, inexpensive suv, they kept making them. Now, they're coming out with another, smaller suv that is supposed to replace the cherokee. But people keep buying them.  so there is going to be a 2001 model, but after that, who knows? Jeep is eager to introduce newer, more modern, more aerodynamic products, such as the upcoming liberty. All 2001 cherokees will be powered by a 4. 0-liter, overhead-valve inline-6. This is the same engine that was re-designed last year for 50-state lev (low-emissions vehicle) certification.  cherokee is a case study in how long a solid design can remain viable. Introduced in 1984, cherokee helped launch america into its amazing romance with sport-utility vehicles. Cherokees sprouted in suburban driveways like mushrooms. And its popularity continues. Jeep sold more than 140,000 cherokees last year. An almost identical package is required on limited, but due to manufacturer-to-dealer discounts it is currently listed as a no-cost option as well as a mandatory one.  automatic transmission and air conditioning can also be ordered as stand-alone options, for $945 and $850, respectively. Leather upholstery is available for $1,190, a seriously off-road 'up-country' suspension for $725-$845 (depending on model), and a trailer tow group $245 or $365, again depending on the model. S.: square, tough and durable.  the cherokee was the first unit-body sport-utility vehicle, as distinct from the traditional body-on-frame approach. Both include a 2. 72:1 low range, but selec-trac has a center planetary differential with a 48/52 torque split for free running on dry pavement. interiorcherokee's interior shows its age and comes up a little short in the comfort department. It was hard to perceive its interior as cramped or awkward, because by the standards of the day it wasn't. Times have changed, however. Suvs have become luxurious station wagons. Without a major redesign, the cherokee hasn't kept up with that trend. Newer entries place a high priority on comfort. Compared to them, the cherokee measures up as pretty snug, particularly in the rear seat.  it's also uncomfortable for the driver. Adjust as we might, we were never quite able to achieve an ideal driving position. Cherokee's limited front seat travel left us sitting closer than we wanted to be, and reaching up for the wheel rim. The primary instruments are a bit small, but the secondary array is a little more comprehensive than average, including an ammeter and oil pressure gauge.  it's possible to load the cherokee with comfort and convenience features, including a good sound system with cassette and cd players, air conditioning, power driver's seat, an overhead digital info center and two digital clocks. All of this stuff makes the going more pleasant, but we'd trade most of it for better seats. In fact, we suspect some people would dismiss the cherokee as choppy on this score, and that would be true. This is not an explorer, a sport-utility vehicle designed for people who see this breed as trendy station wagons. Its combination of good ground clearance, short wheelbase and a favorable power-to-weight ratio make this boxy little veteran a tiger in the woods. As always, we'd prefer a manual transmission.  power notwithstanding, the cherokee's inline-6 feels a little primitive compared to most of the v6 engines offered by jeep's competitors. An inline-6 is supposed to be an ideal design for smooth operation, but jeep's version generates noticeable vibration through most of its operating range. summaryjeep cherokee continues to fall behind its competitors in terms of comfort and convenience. It's agile, and surprisingly quick.  lack of caution in the option-shopping process can escalate its price beyond reason. 2002 ford f-150 review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. This means the overall length and wheelbase can vary tremendously, the latter from 120 inches to 157. 4. lineupthree engines are available: the standard engine for the base-level xl is a 4. 2-liter v6 that generates 202 horsepower. A 4. 6-liter v8 rated at 231 horsepower is optional in xl models and regular cab xlt, and standard in all others. A 5. 4-liter v8 rated at 260 horsepower is available as an option for most f-150s. All three cab styles are offered in xl, xlt, and lariat trim levels; supercabs and supercrews can be promoted to ultimate king ranch status, with leather captain's chairs, premium audio, and unique identification.  i love the supercrew, which features luxurious rear-seat accommodations that can be converted into covered cargo storage. Overall length is kept reasonable by using an ultra-short bed that measures just 5 1/2 feet. The bed is a compromise, but it relieves the driver of the daily burden of maneuvering a pickup that's as long as an aircraft carrier. The top-rung lariat supercrew is equipped like a luxury sport-utility, with handsome leather upholstery, power-adjustable pedals and an optional moonroof and rear-seat entertainment system.  for 2002, even base-level xls are air conditioned. Power-adjustable pedals are standard on all lariat models and optional on xl and xlt trim lines. Antilock brakes (abs) are standard throughout the f-150 line, and remote keyless entry is now a standard feature on xlt models.  with colors and options thrown in, the model matrix is huge. And this matrix includes some specialty models.  new for 2002 is the fx4 off-road package, which includes 17-inch cast aluminum wheels with exposed lug nuts, rancho-brand shocks, three skid plates, a 3. 55 axle and p265/70r17 white-outline tires. The fx4 package is available only on 4x4 models, but the package price ranges from $620-$1165 depending on trim level and body style.  the high-performance svt lightning, packs a supercharged 5. 4-liter v8 rated at 380 horsepower and 450 foot-pounds of torque. Specialized wheels, tires, and suspension are calibrated more for handling than for hauling. This limited production image-generator is available only as a 2wd regular cab on the 120-inch wheelbase.  also available for 2002 is a new limited-edition ford harley-davidson f-150 supercrew. It features a supercharged 5. 4-liter triton v8 engine, unique styling cues and a new color option: dark shadow grey. The 2002 ford harley-davidson f-150 supercrew is the third truck jointly developed by ford motor company and harley-davidson motor company. (it joins two other limited-edition models: the 2000 ford harley-davidson f-150 super cab and the 2001 ford harley-davidson f-150 supercrew. walkaroundthe f-150 is a stylish truck, one that pays more serious attention to aerodynamics than either the dodge or gm pickups. It is rounder, friendlier and looks more like a car than the dodge, chevy, or gmc. That may be part of the reason it outsells all other pickup trucks by a considerable margin. The current chevrolet and gmc trucks are still pretty new (they were redesigned for the 1999 model year), but their conservative styling doesn't look as modern as the ford's. The dodge ram has been redesigned for 2002, but retains a retro look that won't appeal to everyone (at least not as intensely as it appeals to its die-hard fans).  the f-150's aerodynamic hood falls away very rapidly from the base of the windshield, so it's easier to see what's immediately in front of the truck; that's handy for maneuvering off road, for parking, and when navigating in tight city traffic. Like the ram, however, its fenders seem to fill small rural roads. In tight quarters, this feels like a big truck.  the 2002 ford harley-davidson f-150 supercrew incorporates styling cues of the past with an innovative flair. The front end of the vehicle features a new upper chrome billet grille, clear-lens headlamps and clear-lens parking lamps embossed with the harley-davidson bar & shield. For 2002, a distinct rivet design surrounds the center of the 20x9-inch five-spoke chromed cast-aluminum wheels, complementing the center caps that display the harley-davidson bar & shield. Flame pin striping and chrome accessories complement the overall package. As in the past, the ford harley-davidson f-150 supercrew is lowered one inch. It features a specially tuned exhaust system with a dual inlet/dual outlet muffler, ending in chrome 3 1/2-inch 'slash cut' exhaust tips. interiorthe f-150 takes its interior design cues from the company's successful passenger cars, such as the ford taurus and lincoln continental. The designers adapted these cues to the pickup's larger cab. The curves, surfaces, textures, instrumentation and graphics inside the f-150 are more adventurous, more modern, and in some ways better executed than the gm and dodge, big and bold but not outsized for a big vehicle.  the mid-range f-150 xlt has dual air bags with a passenger-side deactivation switch. They offer a lot of interior space for the money. The xlt's cloth seats recline, and a lumbar support on the driver's side provides even more driving comfort.  all ford pickups share another trait: a relatively high ride height, even on 2x4 models. Getting into and out of the rear seats was easy. The rear seats are comfortable and offer good legroom, allowing passengers to slide their feet under the front seats. Adults should be able to ride back there for longer trips. It's also a nice place to change into and out of driver's suits when we go racing.  supercrew's rear seats fold down (and are split 60/40), offering a nearly flat luggage space. It's a great place to put cargo or big dogs. I like putting all my equipment back there when i go fly fishing. Small storage compartments behind the front seats add utility. This is because they use conventional steel leaf springs at the rear.  up front, the 2wd pickups use a coil-spring independent suspension, while the 4x4 versions use a torsion bar front suspension.  power steering is over-assisted, to make it easier to park and maneuver in tight quarters.  we find the brakes on ford trucks to be average in stopping power and average in fade characteristics.  although the optional 4. 6-liter v8 engine is rated 231 horsepower and 293 foot-pounds of torque, we don't think it's as good a performer in many respects as the small v8 engines from gm and dodge. It's a good, solid engine, with millions of examples on the road, and it sounds good at full throttle, but we find it a little duff for all-around street use, and we would certainly find it wanting if we had to haul anything heavy or tow a trailer up a mountain road. For any customer contemplating those kinds of duties, the 5. 4-liter v8 engine is a much better choice. summaryford's f-150 is still among the most car-like of the full-size pickup trucks, with slick looks, pleasing performance, a comfortable cabin, and a proven powertrain.  ford's new f-150 supercrew is the most comfortable of the light-duty crew cabs currently available. model lineup4x2 styleside 120-in. 2002 ford f150 review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale.
